Working with Eurocities
Being part of Eurocities has significantly strengthened Malaga’s European engagement. Through the network, we have gained access to innovative urban practices and established direct relationships with other cities facing similar challenges.
A clear example is a project currently being implemented in Malaga that originated from a best practice shared by the City of Braga through Eurocities. Without the network, this exchange would not have taken place so naturally or effectively.
Eurocities enabled direct dialogue between our teams, allowing us to learn from Braga’s experience, adapt the initiative to our local reality and transform a successful European example into a concrete project for Malaga. This is exactly the kind of practical cooperation that makes Eurocities such a valuable network.
Eurocities has also inspired the design of local initiatives by exposing our teams to successful experiences in areas such as urban innovation, climate resilience and EU project development.
Eurocities has provided Malaga with an effective platform to exchange views directly with European institutions and other cities, allowing us to contribute to discussions on urban policy, cohesion policy and the future of EU funding.
The network has also strengthened cooperation among Spanish cities, enabling us to coordinate common positions on issues such as the implementation of NextGenerationEU funds and the future role of cities in European policymaking.
The greatest value of Eurocities is the opportunity to learn directly from other cities, build trusted relationships and transform ideas into concrete cooperation.
