International cooperation creates new opportunities for cities, to build partnerships, exchange solutions, access funding, and amplify their impact beyond local borders.
To explore what this looks like in practice, Eurocities is holding a webinar on Thursday 25 June (11:00 – 12:00 CET) showcasing Bologna’s European and International Action Strategic Plan – an inspiring example of how a city can approach international cooperation in a coordinated, strategic, and impactful way.
During the session, Anna Lisa Bonni, Deputy Mayor of Bologna and former Secretary General of Eurocities, will share their approach, key lessons, and practical insights on how cities can strengthen their international action to unlock new opportunities and deliver greater benefits for residents.
Nicolas Gharbi, Director of Public Affairs & Advocacy at the TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, and an International Cooperation Expert, will also provide reflections on Bologna’s strategy and lead an open discussion.
This webinar also marks the beginning of a broader Eurocities effort to strengthen collaboration among cities working on international cooperation. As we explore the creation of a new Community of Experts later this year, we would like to connect with cities interested in exchanging practices, shaping common priorities and building stronger partnerships across the network.
Whether your city is already developing an international strategy or exploring how to strengthen its global engagement, this conversation is an opportunity to connect, learn, and help shape the next chapter of cooperation across our network.
When: Thursday 25 June, 11:00 – 12:00 CET.
Where: The webinar is online, so you can join from anywhere.
