To overcome the economic crisis resulting from the corona pandemic, Helsinki wants to support new companies. The city has launched a business development and coaching service for start-ups that are aiming for international markets.

The ‘NewCo Accelerator’ provides companies with a personal business coach who will support them with funding, team building and growth. In addition, start-ups get involved in a network that enables them to learn from each other. The services are free.

“Through the new service, we want to support potential start-ups and experts who find themselves on the job market as a result of the coronavirus emergency,” says Helsinki’s Economic Development Director Marja-Leena Rinkineva. “If we succeed, we may be able to transform the crisis into an opportunity.”
