European friendship is as important as your daily bread – that’s the message the German city of Muenster is giving its people in these days.
Muenster celebrates 60 years of partnership with its French twin city Orléans and marks the event with a specially designed paper bag that the bakeries use for their rolls and buns. The bag, produced in an edition of 200,000 pieces, shows the European stars and the dates of the relation between the two cities, 1960 to 2020.
A bigger festival programme has been postponed to next year, due to corona.
The partnership agreement between Muenster and Orléans was signed on 24 September 1960.
Since 1999, Muenster is a member of Eurocities.
