Throughout the pandemic, cities have faced multiple challenges head-on. Whether to deliver food aid, protect the cultural sector or to ensure as many services and businesses as possible kept running, cities have continued to innovate to ensure people can live their lives in the best way possible.
Meanwhile, as the impacts of the war in Ukraine have been felt across Europe in recent months, our cities are fully engaged in welcoming refugees, as well as sending supplies and support to Ukrainian cities.
In Brussels, the Eurocities staff have been hard at work throughout, representing the voice of cities to decision-makers, identifying funding opportunities and chalking up many successes.
With more people than ever before choosing to live in cities, our urban centres remain at the heart of economic and cultural life, and the hope for a just and climate-neutral future. These are the stories that we continue to share.
