Get ready for Eurocities 2025 Braga!

9 April 2025

Registrations are open for the Eurocities Conference 2025, taking place in the vibrant city of Braga, Portugal, from 4-6 June.

As the new EU institutions roll out their policy agendas, Eurocities 2025 Braga – focusing on the theme ‘Stronger Cities, Fairer Europe’ – will be a key moment to explore how cities and the EU can together build a just, resilient future for Europe and its people.

In under two months, mayors, EU leaders and urban experts from across Europe will gather to discuss key challenges and opportunities for city governments. This includes how cities’ priorities are reflected in the EU’s new work programme, and how cities can secure funding, influence EU decisions, and drive green, inclusive growth.

They will also tackle some of the biggest challenges cities face today, such as the urban housing crisis, creating inclusive public spaces, and shaping the next EU budget.

Cities key role in building a better Europe

Cities, as the level of government closest to citizens, have an essential role to play in tackling the biggest challenges facing Europe, including climate action, competitiveness and the housing crisis. However, they often face limited resources and a lack of recognition at national and EU levels of government.

Eurocities 2025 Braga will dive into solutions, focusing on how cities can secure the funding and skills they need to meet growing demands, while also ensuring they have a say in decision-making at EU and national levels. We will also share the findings of the Eurocities Pulse Mayors Survey 2025, presenting mayors’ top priorities for this year.

Alongside the main sessions, the conference will feature important side events tackling critical urban issues, including:

  • Thriving Cities – Investing in homes, investing in Europe: How cities and the EU can collaborate to address rising housing challenges.
  • Open Cities – Unlocking public spaces for all: Why cities must prioritise high-quality, vibrant and inclusive public spaces.
  • Ambitious Cities – Shaping public procurement to boost competitiveness: How cities can drive sustainable growth and innovation through new approaches.

Celebrate city excellence, share ideas and shape the future
