In a new series of events, Eurocities tackles cross-cutting issues from healthy mobility to affordable and sustainable housing, and from rethinking public space to creating circular jobs for a thriving economy and environment.
The COVID-19 pandemic is the single biggest disruptor to impact city life since the second world war and has put a spotlight on the inequalities in our societies from health and environment, to education and employment, mobility and housing, to the arts. It emphasises the need for a shift to a greener and more just society.
Building on the crisis management and post-pandemic visionary discussions held through Eurocities’ city dialogues this summer, we’ll explore the lessons learnt from the pandemic and broader experience gained to drive action for transformative change in cities. In workshops dedicated to specific challenges, cities will share their experiences and explore how such challenges could be addressed. Taking a stepwise approach, we’ll develop ideas for actions to take, addressing questions from who would be involved to what the first steps are.
The four workshops, open to members and urban experts, will unfold across three weeks as follows:
Building a resilient, sustainable and circular economy to ensure a better future for the next generation – 13 October
