Eurocities Mobility Forum: Collaborating Beyond Boundaries

19 Mar - 21 Mar

From 19–21 March  2025, the Latvian capital will host the Eurocities Mobility Forum under the theme Collaborating Beyond Boundaries: Sustainable Mobility for All. This year’s forum will highlight how European cities are tackling pressing mobility challenges by fostering collaboration, rethinking infrastructure, and prioritising equity and sustainability.

Over three days, participants will explore innovative solutions to key urban mobility challenges, including shaping low-emission zones, addressing urban logistics, and implementing 30km/h zones and traffic calming measures to create safer streets. The discussions will also focus on strategies to improve accessibility in transport planning and harnessing data to enhance decision-making. The programme features high-level political discussions, dynamic workshops, and immersive site visits, showcasing Riga’s transformative projects such as Rail Baltica and its pioneering approach to public space and mobility planning.

Why Collaborating Beyond Boundaries?

As cities seek to create sustainable mobility systems, collaboration across borders, sectors, and disciplines is more critical than ever. Riga embodies this approach, aligning local efforts with EU-wide priorities such as the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The city is investing in infrastructure to improve connectivity, creating inclusive streetscapes, and piloting new technologies that serve citizens while respecting the environment.

The forum will also address the human side of mobility: ensuring equitable access, involving citizens in decision-making, and promoting behavioral change toward sustainable modes of transport. From innovative approaches to speed management and traffic calming measures to rethinking the role of multimodal hubs, the discussions will inspire cities to think bigger and act bolder.

Whether you’re exploring strategies for scaling up local innovations, managing megaprojects, or preparing for the transition to automated mobility, the Riga Mobility Forum promises to be a pivotal moment for exchanging knowledge, building partnerships, and advancing sustainable mobility for all.
