Eurocities has opened a position to host students eligible in the framework of their curriculum for an unpaid internship, to work with the communications team on running a campaign linked to the European elections.
Eurocities is a dynamic network of major European cities, uniting the local governments of over 200 cities from across 38 countries. By fostering exchange, cooperation, and learning among cities, we aim to amplify their voice at the European level and to deliver innovative solutions for a wide range of urban challenges. As a vibrant hub for professionals, we offer a unique platform for sharing knowledge, influencing policy, and setting the agenda for the urban future in Europe.
Responsibilities: join the campaign ‘A better Europe starts in cities’
As an intern, you will be integral to our two-phase communications campaign leading up to the European elections in June 2024. Your creativity and drive will support the launch and momentum of our campaign titled: “A better Europe starts in cities”.
Engage with mayors, city leaders, and our diverse network to champion the urban agenda and strengthen the bonds between EU institutions and local communities.
- Strategic Influence: Boost the role of cities in EU policymaking, showcasing local leaders as pivotal players in the European project.
- Creative Storytelling: Design impactful online and offline communications material, prepare videos that capture the imagination, and craft messages that resonate with audiences across Europe.
- Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with our communications team, attend weekly meetings, and support a variety of exciting tasks that bring our campaign to life.
Profile: we’re looking for someone like you
- Fluency in English is a must; additional European languages are a bonus.
- If you have a flair for graphic design or video production, let your talents flourish with us.
- Your mastery of social media will help us make a mark.
- This internship is ideal for students in communications and marketing or related disciplines who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

- Duration: A 3 to6 month full-time or part time commitment starting in February-March. Exact duration and starting date to be discussed. Part time teleworking is possible.
- This is an unpaid internship that must be part of your academic curriculum.
