Membership and Executive Committee Coordinator

The candidate would ideally start in October.

Responsibilities

As membership and executive committee coordinator, you have an essential role in the Brussels office and are a key link with our members.

You will:

  • be the primary corporate contact for members of Eurocities
  • be in charge of outreach to potential new members
  • ensure internal coordination of members’ engagement across the network’s activities, maintain an overview of this engagement, collate intelligence, approach and follow up prospective members and partners, and ensure information is recorded and maintained.
  • undertake the role of secretary to the Executive Committee of Eurocities supporting meetings, preparing and distributing agendas and minutes, and supporting the Secretary General with other meeting preparations and follow-up

You will work closely with the Secretary General and the management team of the Eurocities Brussels office. In this role, you will:

  • understand members’ needs, develop and implement proposals to
    • improve membership services
    • improve stakeholder engagement
    • attract and retain members
  • prepare high-level meetings for members, including the General Assembly
  • execute special projects and other delegated tasks
  • support the financial sustainability of the network by working with the finance manager in the annual process of invoicing members, the approval of accounts and the annual call for the audit committee
  • manage the onboarding of new members
  • ensure that the membership database is updated

Profile

You are an experienced professional full of initiative, curious, patient, resilient, creative and flexible.

The skills and experience to do this job successfully include*:

  • 4-5 years of professional experience working on stakeholder engagement
  • at least 3 years of relevant experience working in membership-based associations
  • knowledge of cities and urban challenges
  • experience with facilitation of board work
  • excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills
  • excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • full proficiency in English
  • problem-solving approach
  • solid organisation and planning skills
  • experience working autonomously and as part of a team
  • organised & accurate, able to meet deadlines

We offer

  • A full-time position as an employee under Belgian legislation. The selected candidate will need to either live in Belgium or be willing to move to Belgium for the duration of the contract (candidates need to provide a Belgian address).
  • An open-ended contract, starting as soon as possible.
  • 3.200 € – 3.400 € monthly gross salary, according to profile and experience.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Part-time teleworking.
