Eurocities, the network of major European cities, is recruiting a project coordinator in the field of sustainable and affordable housing. The candidate would ideally start as soon as possible.
About the project
You will be responsible for implementing the SHAPE-EU project.
SHAPE-EU, ‘Sustainable Housing for Social Impact’, will set up lighthouse projects for green and affordable housing, delivering social and low-carbon housing projects on the ground. The project also has a strong focus on sustainable construction, sustainable public procurement, engaging SMEs, as well as maximising EU energy efficiency funds uptake at local level.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- implement the SHAPE-EU project:
- work in close partnership with the rest of the consortium
- deliver project activities such as awareness-raising and dissemination activities to engage and mobilise Eurocities members; drafting and validating policy recommendations, including on access to EU funds; knowledge-sharing activities for take up of policy recommendations and replication of lighthouse projects, etc.
- organise high-level annual events, including the final event of the project
- coordinate other members of the consortium and assure the quality of deliverables for workpakages and tasks where Eurocities is leading
- draft technical and financial reports
- create synergies between the SHAPE-EU and Eurocities’ policy work in areas such as sustainable and affordable housing.
Profile
You are an experienced professional who is full of initiative, self-driven, curious, creative, flexible and results-oriented.
You have:
- a successful track record of five years work experience in EU-funded project management
- experience in coordinating and working with multiple stakeholders at EU and local level
- in-depth and up-to-date knowledge on sustainable and affordable housing policies at EU and/or local level in the scope of the project
- experience in event organisation
- fluent English, and can write clear and concise reports in English
- good networking abilities and interpersonal skills for an international environment
- excellent relationship management, negotiating, coordination, and communications skills
Assets:
- experience of working with local and city governments or public sector partners on sustainable and affordable housing
- other languages
- experience of policy work
- experience in writing policy recommendations and publications
We offer
- a contract linked to the length of the project (two years), starting as soon as possible, early March at the latest
- a part-time (18 hours per week) contract, either as:
- employee, under Belgian legislation. The selected candidate will need to either live in Belgium or be willing to move to Belgium for the duration of the contract (candidates need to provide a Belgian address). Or
- freelancer (remote, EU-wide)
- salary according to profile and experience:
- €1,600 – €1,800 monthly gross salary for 50% employment contract
- €31 – €35 hourly rate for a freelancer
Freelance can be based in any EU country and should prove freelancer status as a natural person.
