Cohesion policy is under threat. The EU’s main investment tool for territorial cohesion and economic convergence faces proposed budget cuts. A reduced budget would put the objectives for a balanced, sustainable and inclusive development at risk as well as the ability to deliver results for people where they live. It also undermines the power of the policy to be a delivery mechanism for Europe’s international commitments to the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement.
