Networking Breakfast and Knowledge Exchange: SUMP - Understanding Cities’ Needs and Increasing Take-up

9:00 - 11:30 CET, 13 June 2018Location: Mobility and transport are vital to accomplish sustainability goals at local, national, and European level. Competitive, socially fair, and environmentally sound transport systems that encourage sustainable urban mobility are crucial to prosperity and wellbeing.

Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) - an integrated planning approach - help create such systems. Yet though SUMPs are rising in number across the European Union (EU), there remain significant gaps in their take-up between Member States.

So, how can we support and boost SUMP take-up in cities and regions in the EU?

Join an upcoming networking breakfast and knowledge exchange session to understand ways to achieve this. Participants will meet and swap ideas and experiences with local, national, and European level officials working on SUMPs. All contributions will inform the ongoing update of the SUMP Guidelines.
Findings from a recent analysis, held with 300 European city and national government representatives, will also be presented. This reveals effective SUMP take-up strategies.

Book your place now, as venue space is limited! More event details will follow soon.
The event is organised by CIVITAS SUMPs-Up, a project under the CIVITAS Initiative that assists planning authorities with SUMP development and implementation.Register here
