The Green Digital Charter (GDC) aims to improve quality of life in cities through the uptake of digital solutions.

Its annual collection of case studies presents actions and projects associated with green digital developments, being implemented in GDC signatory cities to enable them to meet their commitments of tackling climate change and improving quality of life for citizens.

The 2016 edition of the catalogue presents 32 projects and actions being implemented in 22 different cities. These innovative solutions are either cross-domain or specifically related to buildings, energy, transport or e-participation. The PDF version can now be found here

Of the projects featured in this publication, three will be recognised at the GDC 2016 awards ceremony, taking place in Brussels on 25 January 2017. Projects are competing in one or more of the following three categories:

  1. citizen participation & impact on society

  2. creation of European added-value

  3. promoting open & interoperable solutions
