ACCELERATING THE CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION — FINANCING ENERGY EFFICIENCY AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

The purpose of this event is to present and discuss between European policy makers, local authorities and key actors a set of policy recommendations on how to facilitate access to energy efficiency investments for local authorities.
Inge Van De Klundert, Policy advisor sustainability of the city of Utrecht and Chair of EUROCITIES Working Group on Air quality, climate change and energy efficiency, will be among the speakers who will present a policy recommendation on the European initiative ‘Smart finance for smart buildings’.

SHARING SMART SOLUTIONS AND EXPERIENCES — SCALE-UP AND REPLICATION IN EUROPEAN CITIES

The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign (16-22 September 2017) provides the perfect opportunity to present sustainable mobility alternatives to local residents and to explain the challenges that towns and cities are facing in order to induce behavioural change and make progress towards creating a more sustainable transport strategy for Europe.
CIVITAS is a network of cities working together for cleaner and better transport in Europe and beyond. Since it was launched by the European Commission in 2002, the CIVITAS Initiative has tested and implemented over 800 measures and urban transport solutions as part of demonstration projects in more than 80 Living Lab cities Europe-wide.

H2020 LIGHTHOUSE PROJECT STAND - SHOWCASING THEIR SMART CITY SOLUTIONS

The nine H2020 lighthouse projects will team up for a common stand in the networking village. This stand will be equipped with a touchscreen showcasing the different smart city solutions developed within their programmes. There will also be an agenda for projects to take turns having people present on the stand and interact with visitors.
GREEN DIGITAL CHARTER STAND – DIGITAL SOLUTIONS TO SAVE ENERGY IN SMART CITIES

Already today, the ICT sector represents 4% of Europe’s carbon footprint. For this 2017 edition of EUSEW, the Green Digital Charter will raise awareness on the energy consumed by the digital devices most commonly used. Our interactive board will introduce projects and initiatives implemented by Green Digital Charter signatory cities to build sustainable and energy-efficient cities.
