In order to prepare the 20th anniversary of the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG), an ambitious and innovative project was undertaken, focusing on the future state of health in Europe. To take forward this project, a workshop was organised in Leuven, Belgium on 10-11 July. It looked at alternative scenarios to illustrate how the various factors that influence population health might evolve and interact, and to understand what health policy and public health could be like in 20 years. The EHFG Health Futures Project goes further by also linking them to possible health policy priorities for the next twenty years.
The workshop gathered a carefully selected diverse panel including around 20 experts from public and private sectors, civil society and science and academia involved in the fields of public health and healthcare. Anne Berit Rafoss, from the city of Oslo, Chair of the EUROCITIES Working Group Urban Ageing was invited as one of the expert to represent perspectives related to ageing, demographic challenges and the role of local and regional government with a focus on the development and future role of cities.
The European Health Forum Gastein will take place on 4-6 October in Bad Hofgastein, Austria. More information can be found here: https://www.ehfg.org/
