Taking place Tuesday 8 October 2019 (16:30 - 19:00) the workshop will explore different methods and data that cities and regions can use to monitor the achievement of the Agenda 2030 and the SDGs at local scale.
The European Commission, through the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and DG REGIO, is working supporting the monitoring the urban dimension of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as well as the New Urban Agenda.
The JRC will present the progress in the preparation of the European Handbook for the preparation of Voluntary Local Reviews, including local indicators and different methods. UN-HABITAT, that works on the development and monitoring of robust urban indicators at global level, will present the progress and future development of the global reporting system.
EUROCITIES will illustrate examples of local authorities that are frontrunners in the localization of the SDGs and the tools that thery are developing to support their cities and regions.
