Six EUROCITIES members are the frontrunners for the EU awards on promoting sustainable urban mobility.
Lisbon, Malmo, and Skopje are the finalists for the EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award 2016, while Brussels, Budapest, and Stockholm have been nominated for the 5th Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP) Award on urban freight.
With these two awards, the European Commission recognises the exemplary work done by European cities towards the adoption of smarter and more sustainable urban transport practices.
EUROCITIES members Bialystok, Prague, and Sofia are also in the top ten. The winners of the two awards will be announced by Violeta Bulc, European commissioner for transport, at a ceremony to be held in Brussels on 20 March.
