The next EUROCITIES Mobility Forum meeting will take place in Uppsala on 21-23 October 2019 under the theme "Connecting the dots: mobility planning for the wider urban area".

Designing integrated urban mobility plans with the ultimate goals of fostering the shift towards cleaner and more sustainable transport modes, making our streets safer while adopting a user-centric approach, requires a high level of cooperation, coordination and consultation between the different levels of government and relevant authorities.

How to connect the dots?

We will explore multi-level governance and partnership approaches to horizontal and vertical integration, looking at best practises for comprehensive and integrated urban mobility planning for the wider urban area.

We will also look at the bigger picture, how to ensure inter- and cross-border connectivity? How will the future Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) look like? What is needed at national and EU level to respond to local and functional urban needs and circumstances?

Moreover, with a series of parallel sessions we will test new interactive formats, to delve into possible future mobility situations, using scenarios and forecasts as tools for better planning, to look at how to address challenges related to car use and ownership through urban planning and to examine and review a first set of European Sustainable Urban Mobility Indicators.

Come to share, learn and connect!

The Forum will start at lunch time on Monday 21 October and will take place at the Norrlands nation, Västra Ågatan 14, Uppsala. The Forum meeting will end on Wednesday 23 October at 15:30. Two side visits will be organised on the 23 October from 16:00 to 18:00 after the end of the Forum meeting.
