Back in January, the European Commission presented its data economy strategy.
The package, which includes a communication and working documents, addresses restrictions on the free flow of data, including legal barriers on the location of data for storage and/or processing purposes, along with a series of emerging issues relating to data, such as ownership, access, reuse, portability, and liability. A public consultation is open until 26 April.
EUROCITIES and its data working group will respond to the consultation in a policy statement. We will contact our members between 20 and 31 March for their input.
