Athens Citizens’ debate: discussion about Europe

On Monday 19 June, the city of Athens organised a citizens’ debate about Europe and what it means to its citizens. The event took the form of a direct dialogue between representatives of Athens civil society, the mayor of the city, Giorgos Kaminis, city elected representatives, and the president of the Committee of the Regions, Marku Markkula.

EUROCITIES Call for expert to produce publication on the role of cities in promoting social entrepreneurship

EUROCITIES has been collecting a lot of information and good practices from cities over the last two years, concerning the role of local authorities in promoting social economy and especially social entrepreneurship. We are now at the stage that all experiences and good practices reported by cities need to be compiled into one publication that can be disseminated widely at all levels.

Solidarity Cities: Leeds and Stockholm support refugee education in Milan

A mentoring visit of Leeds and Stockholm to Milan took place from 26-29 June in the framework of the Solidarity Cities initiative. EUROCITIES responded quickly in May to Milan's desire to make progress in the area of reception of unaccompanied minors as well as education for children of families with a migrant background.
