For cities interested in innovation procurement, the ENIGMA project has teamed up with the European Commission and the Covenant of Mayors to organise a webinar on municipal innovation procurement. This online event will take place on the 2nd of October and will highlight how new purchasing mechanisms can help your local authority innovate public services.
Start time of the webinar: 2.30 pm; end: 3.30 pm
Public procurement represents 25% of total EU procurement, thus constituting a considerable economic force through which cities can improve their local environment and the quality of life of their citizens. Innovative procurement can decrease the cost of municipal purchasing by 20% while delivering step-changes in city systems and services. For municipalities interested in innovation procurement, the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors and the ENIGMA project are organising this webinar on municipal innovation procurement. The focus of this online event will be on two procedures - Public Purchase of Innovation and Pre-Commercial Procurement - which can contribute to your local efforts to improve energy efficiency and decrease carbon emissions. Moreover, funding available for these procedures at the EU, national and regional levels will be discussed with participants.
This one-hour event includes the following presentations:
- Vasileios Tsanidis, European Commission - An introduction to innovation procurement and the EU financial support for PPI and PCP
- Caterina Sampol, AQUAS, Barcelona - Pre-Commercial Procurement for local and regional innovation
These introductions will be followed by a half-hour questions and answers session with the participants in the webinar.
