As many of you already know, the next KSF Autumn meeting will be hosted by the city of Zaragoza (Spain) on 22-24 October 2018. Although we still must wait some months for taking the plane, the meeting’s agenda is already getting a nice shape.

With continuation on the citizens’-engagement-narrative initiated in Ghent, Zaragoza will focus on the usage of urban data in co-creating our cities.

Characterised by its culture of innovation, Zaragoza will offer a very ‘hands-on’ meeting hosted by Etopia, Zaragoza’s centre for creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Interactive sessions (speed-networking, roundtables and a co-creation exercise) will shape a dynamic forum dedicated to the place and role of citizens in co-creating human smart cities. In addition to the on-going exchanges around data and standards, participants will use the opportunity to discuss new topics in the frame of the new digital citizenship taskforce and the upcoming proposal on technological foresight.
A draft version of the programme is available at the bottom of this page (after log-in).

Apply for the speed-networking session

For this edition, the speed-networking session will focus on four topics, related to the general theme of the forum meeting: Beyond Open Data - Real-Time City - Data for Social Good - Privacy.

Cases presented during the speed-networking session will feed the co-creation session organised on the third day (Wed. 24 October morning). We are welcoming applications from members willing to share an experience, current project or future challenge related to these topics. Please contact

Contribute to the roundtables

Cities willing to actively contribute to the discussions on 'Co-Creation' and 'Urban Labs' (day 2) are invited to share their interest through the same channel.

Finally, time has come again for KSF members to elect their new forum chair and vice-chair. It will be the occasion for members to further develop the future work of KSF by establishing priorities for the next two years, both in terms of content and working methods.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Zaragoza!
