oin the Covenant of Mayors Office and the Greek National Coordinator, the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), in Athens on 15 October, for half a day of training on climate adaptation!
With 165 signatories, 60 of which have already committed to adaptation, Greek cities and towns are increasingly developing local climate resilience strategies, but also need guidance on tools and examples that exist at the national and European level to bring their ambition further.
Distinguished experts from CRES, the city of Athens, and 100 Resilient Cities will provide valuable guidance and share their experience. Participants from Greek cities and towns will explore different strategies for climate adaptation – a requirement under the Covenant of Mayors 2030 framework – and be inspired by leading Greek cities as they demonstrate their plans for 2030.
Three parallel sessions will also address specific challenges linked to local climate action, and will trigger exchanges on common challenges and possible solutions:
Energy planning: how to make an emission inventory and plan for energy actions
Climate change adaptation: how to design your adaptation plan
Transitioning from SEAP to SECAP
The event will be conducted in Greek.
