The 'EU for Talanoa' conference will take place on 13 June 2018 in Brussels. It is organised by the European Commission as part of the EU's contribution to the Talanoa Dialogue, an international process to take stock of the collective and individual efforts towards the goals of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The conference will bring together representatives from EU institutions, cities and regions, civil society, the private sector, trade unions and other relevant stakeholders from EU Member States and countries outside the EU. The event will stimulate discussions related to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, show how the EU is delivering on its climate goals and support the involvement of all public and private actors in the fight against climate change. Panels will discuss the opportunities of the global energy transition and reflecting on the socio-economic challenges, as well as how enhanced ambition can be encouraged at the EU level (regulatory frameworks, support to cities and regions, long-term strategies) and internationally (support to third parties).
