From 14 - 16 November, Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue expects 700 cities worldwide, 600 exhibitors and 420 speakers to gather around eight areas that make a city a ‘smart’ city : Governance – Mobility – Safe Cities – Economy – Sustainability – Circular Economy – Society – Data & Technology.
The event will focus on the strategies to empower metropolises and their citizens through active participation, critical reflection, awareness and access and control over important decisions and resources.
In 2016, EUROCITIES was present in the pavilion of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP-SCC), through its active involvement of the Green Digital Charter initiative and the Sharing Cities ‘lighthouse’ programme. This year, EUROCITIES will again voice its vision for smarter cities that put citizens at their heart of their strategies.
The event will also feature the first Smart Mobility World Congress, a smart transport summit resulting from the merge of BcnRail, international railway industry show and the SCEWC's own mobility track.
